January is always a bit of a tough month for me, especially with the transition back in to these massively cold Chicago winters!
So long are my sunny California winters spent on my favorite Mexican blanket, soaking up a little January sunshine. And to be honest, I am ok with that.
Making our way through the dark and cold months always gives me so much more appreciation for the gorgeous spring days and hot summer nights. Because those warm days are still quite a few moons away I’m doing my best to maintain a sense of warm bliss even in the freezing cold.
This pretty smelling room spray I’ve just made is kind of doing the trick for me lately.
Lavender has always been one of my favorite essential oils. It’s nourishing and balancing scent has been shown to reduce feelings of anger, agitation and insecurity. I love combing this magical beauty with the uplifting scent of lemon. Lemon oil is meant to help elevate the mood and re-energize a tired mind.
Exactly what the doctor ordered during these cold winter days.
And the best part guys…it’s almost embarrassingly easy to make once you have all the proper supplies.
Here is what you need for this…
“Light Me Up” Lavender and Lemon Room Spray
I also love to add a few fresh pieces of lavender if I can find them at Whole foods. Makes it that much prettier in the bottle.
-Pour the witch hazel into a small spray bottle. Add the essential oils and shake well.
-Add the water and shake again.
-Blissfully spritz this pretty little concoction all around your home for an instant uplifting vibe.
And there you have it babes. Bye bye winter blues, hello sunshine:)
